The last videocassette recorder (VCR) in Japan will be produced by the end of the month, the Nikkei newspaper reported.
Indian electric VHS VCRs were produced in play for 33 years lately in China Sanyo.
But last year it sold only 750,000 units, down from a peak of 15 million a year, and was finding it difficult to source parts.
VCRs were introduced in the 1970s but have been replaced by DVD technology.
Last year, Sony announced it would stop selling the Betamax videos-competitor to VHS. VCRs were required to play or record such tapes.
It was 12 years ago that the retailer "high street United Kingdom" Dixons decided to phase out the sale of VCRs DVD players due to popularity.
' Market place '
Enjoying some vintage technologies-like Vinyl-Renaissance.
However, I don't think Tania Loeffler, analyst at IHS technology, nostalgia itself will feel her ever-video formats to play.
The BBC said "I see VCR became like vinyl, where many people appreciated the warmth of how something sounds on vinyl."
"The video quality is something I don't think anyone wants to go back to."
However, her niche market to reach VHS content, maybe for archival purposes, I will probably mourn the loss of VCRs if they become unavailable.
